Early Childhood Assessments

When it comes to early childhood education and foundational learning, it’s important to use an assessment framework that allows you to properly assess the growth and development of the children in your care while communicating goals and milestones with your students’ families.

Vine Assessments simplifies the assessment process and helps teachers clearly articulate the growth and development of the children in their care. Vine Assessments aligns with the Head Start framework as well as state standards for all 50 states and includes a unique early childhood assessment framework that makes clarity a key strength of your child care center’s assessments and communications.

Observational and Formative

Vine Assessments is an observational and formative early childhood assessment framework that integrates with Procare’s engagement functionality and allows teachers to assess their students in the moment by recording observations and tracking milestones with ease. Through Procare’s web application or child care mobile app, child care staff and teachers can quickly and easily make observations and share them with families through the child’s digital assessment portfolio.

The Power of 21 Goals

Vine Assessments features developmental continuums with 21 goals that apply to children from birth through 5 as they prepare for kindergarten. These goals were uniquely created for Vine Assessments and tie directly to each assessment to help teachers and parents monitor the growth of their children. With each of these goals, the outcome marks a child’s growth in cognitive learning and behavior, self-awareness, positive relationships and other essential milestones in their development.

Enhanced Early Childhood Learning Domains

Vine Assessments covers all the following early childhood learning domains outlined by the Head Start Early Learning Outcomes Framework:

  • Approaches to learning

  • Social & emotional development

  • Language & literacy

  • Cognition

  • Perception, motor & physical development

Then Vine Assessments goes further, providing additional indicators focused on communication, social studies as well as creative and cultural arts. This expansion into nine early learning domains allows teachers to make more detailed observations with simpler language.

How Do Vine Assessments Work?

Vine Assessments is exclusively available to Procare customers as a part of our classroom management and family engagement functionality.
